Ernest William Brown

Ernest William Brown (November 29 1866July 22 1938) was a British astronomer.

He studied the theory of the Moon's motion and compiled extremely accurate lunar tables. He also calculated the orbits of Trojan asteroids.

He won the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1907, the Bruce Medal in 1920 and the James Craig Watson Medal in 1936.

A crater on the Moon is named after him, as is the asteroid 1643 Brown .
