Edinburgh South is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament. Prior to the United Kingdom general election of 2005 it had the same boundaries as the United Kingdom House of Commons constituency with the same name. Please see Edinburgh South.
The Scottish Parliament constituency covers the southern portion of Edinburgh, including the wards of Alnwickhill , Gilmerton , Kaimes , Marchmont, Merchiston , Moredun , Newington , North Morningside and the Grange , Prestonfield , and Sciennes. The South Morningside ward is split with Edinburgh Pentlands. The constituency is predominantly suburban.
