Differential wheeled robot

A differential wheeled robot is a mobile robot whose movement is based of two differentially geared wheels placed on each side of the body. It can thus turn and go in any direction by varying the relative rate of rotation of its wheels. Differential wheeled robots are used extensively in research, because their motion is easy to program and can be well controlled.
