Danjaq, L.L.C.

Danjaq, L.L.C. (formerly Danjaq S.A.) is the holding company owned by the family of Albert R. Broccoli, co-initiator of the popular James Bond film franchise.

After Broccoli's production company, EON Productions, made the first James Bond film, Dr. No in 1962, a trust company was founded by Broccoli and Harry Saltzman to insure all future films in the series. The new company was to be called Danjaq S.A., a combination of Broccoli and Saltzman's wives names (Dana Brocolli and Jacqueline Saltzman).

Saltzman later sold his share of the Bond film rights to United Artists. Beginning with 1987's The Living Daylights, Danjaq began to share half the copyright and interests with UA. Today, both Danjaq L.L.C. and UA continue to share the copyright to all elements pertaining to Bond, even though UA parent company MGM now assumes co-production and distribution of the Bond series.
