Daisy, Countess of Warwick

Frances Evelyn Greville (née Maynard), better known as "Daisy", Countess of Warwick (December 10, 1861 - July 26, 1938) was a society beauty and the mistress of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom.

Daisy was the daughter of the Hon. Charles Henry Maynard and thus the granddaughter of Henry Maynard, 3rd Viscount Maynard , whose estates she inherited in 1865, her father having died earlier. She married Francis Richard Charles Grenville, 5th Earl of Warwick , in 1881, when he had not yet inherited the earldom and still held the title of Lord Brooke . They were members of the "Marlborough Set", headed by the Prince of Wales. For her indiscretions, Daisy earned the nickname "the babbling Brooke", and she was the inspiration for the popular music hall song, "Daisy, Daisy".
