Dahu

The dahu is an izard-like creature in Basque mythology.

The shy animal is said to live in the mountains of the Basque Country and its defining characteristic is that it has two legs shorter than the other for walking on mountain slopes. For this reason it was said that to catch a dahu, one had to whistle to catch its attention. If it turned around, its imbalanced legs would cause it to fall down the mountain.
