Cosmoledo is an Atoll of the Aldabra Group and belongs to the Outer Islands of the Seychelles.
The are about twenty individual islets and cays in the atoll, with Menai (in the West) and Grande Ile (in the Souteast) being the largest:

The total land area is about 4.60 kmē, while the lagoon measures 145 kmē in area.
About 38 km SSE of Cosmoledo Atoll is Astove Island, an atoll with just one island forming a nearly closed ring of land around a shallow lagoon, leaving a passage only in the Southwest. The atoll measures 4.5 km North-South, and is 2 km wide. The land area 4.96 kmē. The settlement has been abandoned in the 1980s.
Cosmoledo Atoll and Astove Island are sometimes collectively known as the Cosmoledo Group, which in turn is part of the Aldabra Group.
