Corvus The crow family (Corvidae) has members that are above average in size for the bird order Passeriformes; in fact, it includes several that are among the largest. Many members of this group show themselves to have a flexible approach to their food-finding and interaction between fellow species members and other animals. Some of the larger species (especially in the genus Corvus) also show levels of learned behavior of a high degree, and even insight in some examples that can be interpreted as intelligence. In February 2005 the Canadian scientist Dr Louis Lefebvre announced a method of measuring avian IQ in terms of their innovation in feeding habits: the Corvidae were named the most intelligent birds based on this scale.

There are many species in this family, but they can be divided into well-defined groups.

Hume's Ground Jay (Pseudopodoces humilis) is a member of the Tit or Titmouse family (Paridae).
