The copyright social conflict is a name given to the broader copyright social conflict between content creators who wish to control their creations, and individuals who wish the barriers on information, like copyright, to be relaxed or even removed entirely.
The individuals involved in this conflict are numerous and varied. The continuum for relaxed intellectual property standards rages from infoanarchists to anticopyright groups to copyright reform organizations like the creative commons.
The continuum continues all the way to individuals and organizations that wish to maintain the copyright status quo to those that wish to extend copyright, by introducing laws such as the DMCA and technical measures such as DRM. These organizations include the RIAA, the MPAA and others.
