Comber

Comber (An Comar in Irish) is a town in County Down, Northern Ireland, lying on the Ards Peninsula. It is a centre of potato growing and is also known for the Tudor Cinema .

Comber is most famous for being the birthplace of Thomas Andrews (Shipbuilder), the designer of the RMS Titanic, and for Comber Whiskey which was last distilled in 1953 and today fetches a handsome price.

It is located in County Down in Northern Ireland. Situated about 15 miles ESE of Belfast it is located in the heart of the potato growing country. Comber comes under the control of Ards Borough Council whose seat is in Newtownards a large market town 6 miles to the NE.

On a side note, it also contains the world famous master of arts, Andrew Gawley.
