Col du Tourmalet

Col du Tourmalet is a mountain pass at in the Central French Pyrenees. It is 2,114 metres (6,935 ft) high.

Tourmalet is possibly the most famous of the mountain climbs on the Tour de France. While the route varies from year to year, Tourmalet has been on the Tour more than any other mountain, first being included in 1910.

Part way up the Col du Tourmalet is the ski station La Mongie.

Tourmalet is also the name of a cheese made from sheep's milk produced in these mountains.
