Charles-Philippe Marie Louis d'Orléans, Petit-Fils de France, Prince d'Orléans, Duc d'Anjou, was born in Paris, France on March 3, 1973. He is the eldest son of Michel Joseph Benoît Marie d'Orleans, Fils de France, Comte d'Evreux, and his wife the former Béatrice Pasquier de Franclieu. His paternal grandfather was the late Henri, Count of Paris who was generally recognized as the rightful claimant to the French Throne with the title Henri VI. As such, Charles-Philippe would have the status of
Petit-Fils de France with the style of Royal Highness.
On December 8, 2004, he received the title Duc d'Anjou (Duke of Anjou in English) from his uncle Henry, Count of Paris, Duke of France, Head of the Royal House of France who is the current Orléanist Pretender to the French Throne as Henri VII. The Duke of Anjou is currently the grand master of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem,an international charitable organization.
