Situated to the west of the junction of the Flinders and Eyre Highways, 786 km north of Adelaide, the South Australian town of Ceduna is the last major settlement before you cross the Nullabor from east to west. The port at Thevenard, 3 km east, handles bulk grain, gypsum and salt. Ceduna is set on Denial Bay and the sandy coves, sheltered bays and offshore islands of the bay make it an ideal base for a beach holiday. There was a whaling station on St. Peter's Island during the 1850's.
