Carrickmacross (Carraig Mhachaire Rois in Irish), locally known as Carrick, is a town in County Monaghan, Ireland. It is located on the N2 road not far from Ardee. It is the home of Carrickmacross lace. The poet, Patrick Kavanagh was born in the neighbouring village of Inniskeen.
