Carcharodontosaurus was a gigantic allosaurid dinosaur with an estimated size of up to 49 feet (15 meters) long, rivaling Tyrannosaurus rex in size. Carcharodontosaurus was found by Paul Sereno in North Africa.
This animal was once thought to have the longest skull of any of the theropods. However, the original reconstructions of the bones are now thought to be wrong and that honour thus belongs to another huge Allosaur, its close relative Giganotosaurus.
