Burnt Church (Mi'kmaq: Eskinuopitijk or Esgenoôpetitj) is a Mi'kmaq First Nation in New Brunswick, Canada, near the village of Neguac . It has about 1500 members and one reserve, Burnt Church 14. In recent years, Burnt Church members have militated strenuously for their traditional lobster fishing rights, embroiling them in conflict with the provincial and federal governments as well as local non-native fishermen.
