Billy Talbot

Bassist for Crazy Horse

Biography

Born in New York City, Talbot started his musical career early singing on street corners at the age of 14. He moved to New Jersey with his family the next year, and by 17 he had moved to Los Angeles where he befriended Ralph Molina and Danny Whitten. The three of them formed a vocal group called Danny and the Memories singing Doo Wop . After moving the group to San Fransisco, they morphed into The Psyrcle , and eventually grew to encompass Leon and George Whitsell and Bobby Norcroff at which point they renamed the group The Rockets .

In 1967, the group met Neil Young, at that time part of Buffalo Springfield. This meeting saw Molina , Whitten and Talbot join forces with Young and create Crazy Horse, which is where he met fame.

In October of 2004, Talbot struck out on his own with The Billy Talbot Band which released the album Alive in the Spirit World , produced by Sanctuary Records.
