Belleisle Bay

A long bay off the Saint John River, which is about 10 kilometers long, by 1 kilometer wide. It connects to the Saint John River just downstream from the Evandale ferry in Evandale New Brunswick . Flowing into the Belleisle bay are Kingston Creek near the mouth of the bay, and Belleisle Creek which is at the furthest end of the bay. It is in a valley of rolling hills, that stretches the length of the Belleisle Creek, down the bay, and then along a section of the Saint John River called Long Reach.

Along the bay there is the small village of Hatfield Point , and at the end of the bay is the comunity of Springfield, New Brunswick . There are a couple Bed and Breakfasts near Kingston Creek, and the Belleisle Marina nearby. In Hatfield Point there is a post office, gas station, restaurant, and a Regional elementary school and high school. The local area is served by the Belleisle Valley Volunteer Firefighters.

Along the bay are many cottages, some chicken farms, a Girl Guides camp and a YMCA/YWCA camp - Camp Glenburn . There is a year round ferry that crosses the bay approximately halfway down its length near Long Point. The bay has some good anchorages for pleasure boats in Kingston Creek near the mouth, and in Jenkins Cove 1/3 of the length of the bay. It is a popular spot for pleasure boating in the summer.

There is one island on bay named Ghost Island , which is rumoured by some to be haunted.
