Barnsley East and Mexborough is a Parliamentary constituency covering the eastern Borough of Barnsley and including the town of Mexborough. It is considered a safe Labour seat and has been represented by Jeff Ennis since the 1996 by-election . The seat was created as Barnsley East in 1983.
