Babyz is a computer game in which you can play with and take care of a group of cute, mischievous Babyz who live in a virtual house in your computer. The game was released in 1999 by The Learning Company, and members of PF Magic working there at the time.
Babyz was build using the Petz 4 game engine, which also meant the game offered voice recognition. Babyz reused some of the Petz toyz and had a similar home setting for its playscenes ; The rooms included a:
- Nursery
- Changing Room (with Clothes Closet )
- Play Room (with Toy Shelf )
- Family Room
- Kitchen
- Back Yard
- Attic
Development
As with Petz, each of the initial 15 babyz were drawn from ballz joined by linez . New babyz are made by third-party developers using a hexeditor tool.
