1 - The Alberta Court of Appeal declared Thomas Lukaszuk the victor more than two months after the election. The election-night vote count had given Chris Kibermanis of the Liberals a three-vote win, but the judicial recount gave Lukaszuk a three-vote margin of victory.

2 - A party requires four seats to be entitled to official party status in the legislature. This means the single member from the Alberta Alliance officially sits as an independent, although the Legislature website acknowledges him as being a member of the Alliance.
