Alan II, Duke of Brittany

(Redirected from Alain Barbe-Torte)

Alan II of Vannes (died 952), was count of Vannes and Nantes and duke of Brittany, from 936 to his death. He became ruler of Brittany after a 33 year interregnum from the death of his maternal grand-father Duke Alan, the Great. He was succeeded by Drogo. During his rule, Alan II had to defend Brittany from Norman invasions.
