Airdrie is a city in Alberta, Canada, located just north of Calgary. It is part of the Greater Calgary Area (1,037,100 in 2004). Due to the close proximity, it is now more or less a suburb of Calgary, and the population has been exploding as a result. The estimated 2005 population of Airdrie is about 27,000.
