Adam Savage (born july 15, 1967) in New York City, and grew up in Westchester County, NY. He is an American Television host on the program MythBusters on the Discovery channel . Before that he spent 10 years as an artisan in special effects, specifically modelmaking for companies like Industrial Light and Magic, Warner Bros. and Disney. He worked on such films as Star Wars Episodes 1 and 2, The Matrix sequels, Bicentennial Man, A.I., Space Cowboys and others.
The son of a painter/animator/director, he was a child actor, giving voice to animated characters that his father produced for Sesame Street. He played Mr. Whipple's stockboy "Jimmy" in a Charmin commercial, and 2nd lead in Billy Joel's music video "You're Only Human".
