AM transmitter Westerglen

The AM transmitter Westerglen is a broadcasting facility for longwave and mediumwave established in 1932. From the site four radio programmes are transmitted on the frequencies 810kHz, 909kHz, 1089kHz and 1215kHz. Therefore there are three guyed steel framwork masts on the site, which are insulated against ground. A fourth mast with a height of 152 metres was built in 1980. It is used as longwave aerial and is run together with the transmitters in Droitwich and Burghead on the same frequency (until 1989 200 kHz, now 198 kHz). This mast is a guyed steel framework construction with triangular cross section and it carries a roof capacity for its electrical longification on its top.
